Request a proposal
  • Our services include designing and building. One call results in a proposal for planning and placing your graceful pathways. You will have access to the latest styles and ideas for stone, as well as for decorative lighting and complementary groundscape.
  • Design discussions result in a computer-aided scale drawing that resembles a map of the location of your stone walkways. You can also request a digital image of what it will look like, before the stone is laid! You would see a digital picture of your design overlaid on an actual picture of your house or office, using state-of-the-art design imaging software.
  • You will see the term “hardscape” used to describe the decorative and functional use of stone and the always-versatile pavers. It’s remarkable how “hardscape” results in a softening of your landscape look. The shapes and surfaces of stone and pavers supply texture alongside turf.

The top five benefits of stone walkways
  1. You enjoy seamless beauty from driveway to foyer
  2. You can coordinate color and style with your exterior décor, introducing new and contrasting accent colors
  3. You have the option of a rustic look, or a modern, tailored design
  4. Your home or business exudes a sense of stability and luxury
  5. The value of your property increases

Stone means business
  • Apartment complexes often depend on stone walkways to establish the most important factor in leasing: the first impression. A plain sidewalk to the leasing office says nothing. Stone or pavers speak volumes about the upkeep and care of that complex.
  • Businesses find customers, clients, and visitors get a similar message – of quality and care – that sets them apart from their competition.

Stone walkways and New England weather The materials used today withstand the worst of freezes and thaws far better than concrete or asphalt. The problem, of course, is that thawing ground shifts. Shifting ground was the reason the Dutch began using interlocking pavers for roads and sidewalks way back in the 40s. Holland is below sea level; that ground is always shifting. It’s a design they still use today and a concept that has been transferred successfully to harsh winter climates.

Patching weather cracks in concrete leaves an ugly mark. Many modern stone walkways can be repaired without installing an entirely new path. Pavers, in particular, can be disassembled, the ground beneath them fixed, and the original pavers re-installed. You avoid any evidence of a “patch”; no change in color or aging.

Pavers are durable, comfortable, and earth-friendly
  • The city of North Bay, Ontario, Canada built streets and sidewalks with pavers 20 years ago and they’re still strong and lovely, even after harsh winters.
  • Many pavers resist spilled fuel and oil. They are skid and slip resistant.
  • Permeable Interlocking Concrete Pavements (PICPs) are considered environmentally friendly by the U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC). Many are made of recycled material; they can be recycled; and often they are made of materials available nearby, reducing fuel required by cross-country shipping. In addition, some PICPs can decrease the rate and quantity of storm runoff, due to the filtering action of the base.
